Mr Stanyer Burns, of Larkhall, provided digital copies of the War Memorial 'Unveiling and Dedication' Ceremony Programme.

He also provided the photographs of the Remembrance Card of Corporal WILLIAM BICKERSTAFF who served with his father Corporal RICHARD BURNS in the Machine Gun Corps. These two men's Service Numbers were 42354 and 42356 respectively. Corporal RICHARD BURNS was gassed, but survived the war and returned to Larkhall.

WILLIAM BICKERSTAFF did not survive and is listed on the Dalserf War Memorial at Ashgillhead. His family had connections with Shawsburn and Birkenshaw. He is listed in the 'Other Soldiers Found' Section of the website.
